Times have been ruff, so QT Canberra has rolled out the pet-friendly red carpet and opened its doors to allow furry best friends in their luxury hotel rooms.

In keeping with the hotel chains’ boutique lavish offering, four-legged guests are treated as well (if not even slightly better) than their two-legged companions. Each stay comes with premium bedding, a curated minibar and a decadent in-room dog’s dinner menu.

Introduced late last year due to constant guest requests, Pup Yeah! Fur-friendly stays are now available across all QT Hotels & Resorts in Australia and New Zealand, including QT Canberra.

Dogs weighing under 20 kilograms can enjoy a special QT Canberra breed of doggo indulgence.

“At QT Canberra we have loved celebrating the individuality of not only our guests but their four-legged friends too! We’ve had around one pooch per week living their best life at QT and have noticed a trend with long-stay guests bringing their furry best friend along for a luxury stay,” said QT Group general manager Callum Kennedy.

“We launched Pup Yeah! after receiving enquiries from our guests requesting pet-friendly rooms. We know it can be stressful leaving dogs at home while you go away so we wanted to create a solution that alleviated this stress for our guests.”

From big mutts, little mutts, the sassy and fur-ocious, as long as your canine is well behaved, leashed in common areas of the hotel, and weighs under 20 kg, they can enjoy a special QT Canberra breed of doggo indulgence.

“Our pet-friendly packages start from around $450, with each guest checking-in able to select a complimentary meal from our decadent in-room dog menu incorporating the same restaurant-quality produce you’ll find in QT Canberra’s signature restaurant, Capitol Bar & Grill,” Callum says.

Among the offerings are Steak Tartare with raw beef, mushrooms and egg yolk; Risotto with bone marrow, bone broth, parsley and crispy pigs ears; Livers and Toast with chicken livers, pork neck, chicken gravy on wholemeal toast; and an Ice Cream Sandwich with bacon ice cream, dried liver and oat biscuit.

“Guests have loved knowing they are fueling their pups with the best locally sourced ingredients the capital has to offer, prepared by our very own Head of Treats Josh Smith-Thirkell!” said Callum.

“Every Pup Yeah! room also comes with a pooch-approved minibar by Woof Gateaux and designer bedding by Nice Digs.”
