We’re turning the spotlight on social issues this week, with the launch of ACT Mental Health Month on Saturday, and on Wednesday, our very own Group Editor Genevieve Jacobs will facilitate a panel on homelessness and poverty to mark Anti-Poverty Week 2020.

Landcare for the Future is discussing environmental values at Farrer Ridge, and ACT Historic Places is holding a Kids at Historic Places botanical drawing class at Lanyon Homestead on Sunday for Floriade Reimagined.

Our friends at Bayldon Ag are hosting their first Field Day at the Queanbeyan showground with all the fun of the fair for the kids at Bell’s Amusements sideshow, and all the equipment you could ever need in the garden or on the farm on show.

If your kids love to dance, Kulture Break is holding free trial classes all week so they can try break dancing, ballet, contemporary and hip hop dance.

The Canberra Theatre Centre has tickets available for the second show of The Gig Economy on Saturday night, featuring all of Canberra’s funniest people in the one spot.

InnovationACT is holding a pitch night competition online on Tuesday night with $50,000 at stake for entrepreneurs, and trivia is returning to Walt & Burley at the Kingston Foreshore on Monday nights.

Canberra’s public art biennial – contour 556 – begins this week, so keep your eye on their events page for some wonderful performances and art exhibitions.

Have a great week, Canberra!
