For immediate releaseRiotACT snaps up This Is Canberra as acquisition streak continues
Canberra, Australia – 18 August 2017 – Canberra digital regional news and opinion platform RiotACT has today finalised the acquisition of This is Canberra, one of the region’s longest standing and most respected food and lifestyle publications.
The acquisition comes just weeks after RiotACT announced its purchase of B2B Magazine, one of Canberra’s most trusted sources of business content.
RiotACT co-founder Michael McGoogan said that the acquisition of This Is Canberra would provide an exciting opportunity to reach a broader target audience – including the publication’s 21,000 Facebook followers and 4800 Instagram followers.
“We are extremely proud to welcome This Is Canberra, a well renowned publication, to the family,” he said.
“This Is Canberra’s high-quality food and lifestyle content has built a particularly strong audience comprising over 70 percent female readership, laying strong foundations for our entry into this special interest vertical.”
This Is Canberra Founder Alex Tricolas said he was confident that RiotACT would nurture the publication, which started in 2005, as it enters its next growth phase.
“RiotACT owners Michael McGoogan and Tim White are both savvy entrepreneurs with a record of success. As proud Canberrans, they are firmly committed to delivering a quality media offering to their hometown at a time when big media is retreating. They have worked to grow RiotACT since taking over, and I’m sure they will do the same with This is Canberra,” he said.
The RiotACT family now includes RiotACT, This Is Canberra, B2B Magazine, Canberra Day Trips and Capital Magazine, with plans to relaunch Capital Magazine in late 2017.
Media interviews with RiotACT owners Tim White and Michael McGoogan are available on request.
