Iconic Canberra burger joint Brodburger is celebrating its 15th birthday in a very special way. They’re opening a new venue at the vibrant new food precinct The Point in Tuggeranong and giving away an astonishing number of free burgers!

Sascha and Joelle Brodbeck – aka Mr and Mrs Brodburger – are the co-owners of the business. From the early days of their little red food truck by the lake, they developed a cult following of Canberran burger lovers. Now, they’re one of the Capital’s most recognisable brands with locations in Kingston, Phillip and Fyshwick.

“We are beyond excited to bring Brodburger to Tuggeranong and be a part of The Point precinct,” said Sascha Brodbeck.

“Fifteen years is a significant milestone, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by opening up this new venue and sharing our love for burgers with the Canberra community.”

The Point is the new dining precinct of South.Point in Tuggeranong. Other dining options joining Brodburger are fellow Canberrans Fricken Chicken, Urban Asian street food from Phat Panda, and community favourite Biteful Kebabs.

Sascha and Joelle have promised the Tuggeranong location will feature unique menu offerings.

“Brod Tuggeranong is also a new concept for us, combining elements of all our Brods into one unique venue. We can’t wait for you to see it!” Joelle said.

The free burger giveaway will run from 5 pm to 8 pm on 1 March, which coincides with Brod’s 15th anniversary. Beef, chicken and vegetarian burgers will be available over the three hours, and the full menu kicks off on Saturday, 2 March.

“We are just as excited as the rest of the neighbourhood that Brodburger is opening at The Point. Our new dining and entertainment precinct is attracting interest from visitors across the city and is set to get livelier now that Brod has arrived,” said Keith Woodman, centre manager at South.Point.

The Point boasts two large screens, a playground, outdoor seating, homegrown favourite food brands, and the popular virtual reality gaming and escape rooms, Metaphysica.

Mr and Mrs Brodburger said they wanted to share the love with Canberra’s community, which has kept them in the burger slinging business.

“We are so grateful for the support we’ve received over the past 15 years, and we can’t wait to create new memories with the community in this fantastic location and celebrate the best way we know how – with free burgers!”

Brod Tuggeranong is located at 76 Athllon Drive, Greenway, inside The Point at South.Point shopping centre. The free burger giveaway will be run from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, 1 March. For more information, follow Brodburger on Instagram or visit their website.
