Whether there’s wine involved or not, there’s nothing like a casual wie-down after work. Photo: Leyla.

After-work drinks are a great chance to lighten the load, nurture important relationships and catch up on some good old-fashioned gossip.

Lounging in a high-class atmosphere with refreshments prepared by experts is hard to beat, too, so here are three of Region‘s favourite classy venues to unwind in after a hard day in the office.

Louis Terrace

The Terrace at Louis offers luxe outdoor drinks and dining, complete with a gorgeous custom fireplace. Photo: Romello Pereira.

Louis’ Terrace

Opening hours: Open from 5 pm, Monday to Saturday.

Where: Louis, Hotel Realm (ground floor), 18 National Circuit, Barton.

It doesn’t get much classier than Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle, where critically acclaimed chef Ben Willis leverages three decades of experience to bring classical European dining to the capital.

The perfect spot for a gentle catch-up or longer, more exclusive booking, Louis’ Terrace is a lush hideaway open all year round.

With an extensive bar menu with far too many wines, whiskeys and cocktails to list, patrons are certainly spoiled in both choice and ambience.

Book here.

Bonus mention: Just across the street from Louis, on top of Burbury Hotel, is the bougie rooftop lounge and bar, Leyla. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 3 pm till late.
