Capital Food Market (previous Belconnen Fresh Food Markets) is bringing Canberra local Grease Monkey to Belconnen with their food truck parking in the courtyard of the markets over winter.
Director Nick Tuckwell says they’re excited to be in Belconnen.
“We know there are a lot of fans in Belco, and we’ve been looking for a way to thank them for their support and serve them closer to where they live. We’re glad to be calling the Capital Food Markets home for the next few months!”
The truck will have tables and chairs set up and will pour local beers from Bentspoke and Capital Brewing – the perfect accompaniment to a burger.
Kim Ashton, centre manager of Capital Food Market, says that Grease Monkey is an exciting addition to the Market.
“Grease Monkey fits perfectly with our mission to create a precinct of freshness and local spirit for shopping, leisure, enjoyment and connection. We couldn’t be happier that the Greasy Truck will start serving their famous burgers from the courtyard.”
Grease Monkey joins a diverse lineup of traders and casual eating options, with well-known market stalls like Knead Patisserie and Natural Living on site.
“We’ve also introduced new flavours and artisans, such as Three Mills Bakery, Hanok Korean Fine BBQ, What the Pho, Florence Gelato and more,” said Kim.
Now for the information you’re here for: the free burgers will kick off at 11 am, Saturday morning (25 May), and there are only 300 available.
“I’d advise getting in quick – they will not last long,” warned Nick Tuckwell.
The Capital Food Market is promising a whole heap of new and exciting store announcements over the next few months, so there will be more than just free burgers to get excited about!
Grease Monkey’s planned trading hours will be from 11 am to 9 pm, with a break between 3 pm and 5 pm, Wednesday to Sunday. They will be found in the courtyard, located off the terrace at Capital Food Market. Capital Food Market is located at 10 Lathlain St, Belconnen. Visit their website for more information.
