Flame grills at Canberra’s Oporto stores are firing up for a free giveaway this Tuesday (10 June).
Portuguese flame-grilled chickens will be given to the first 50 customers at each store from midday as the chain celebrates Dia De Portugal.
Oporto franchisee Sainath Venishetty said it was about more than chicken.
“Dia De Portugal, or Portugal Day, is a global event in Portuguese culture, and what better way to mark it than with our craveable Portuguese Flame-Grilled Chicken?” he said.
“It’s our way of bringing people together with food, flavour and generosity.”
Belconnen Drive Thru, Belconnen Westfield, Canberra DFO, Civic, Dickson, Gungahlin, Majura Park, Phillip, Tuggeranong, and Weston outlets are participating.
There’s a limit of one chicken per customer.
For those who miss out, or aren’t fans of flame-grilled birds, $5 Bondi Burgers will also be available all day.
