Eh-oh Canberra! The magical world of Teletubbies is on its way – but probably not exactly how you remember it.
It’s the latest themed pop-up bar planned for Canberra and the organisers say it’s designed to make your childhood dreams come true. Not sure how many children dreamed of getting tipsy with Dipsy or sharing a drink with Tinky Winky but that’s on the cards at a secret location in the capital from 31 July to 31 December.
“Get ready for BIG HUGS – it’s time to live out all your childhood dreams!” the press release trumpets. “A real-life Teletubbyland set is being built and you are invited to an exclusive event inside our Teletubbies Home Dome.”
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options will be available and the organisers say you may even spot Tinky Winky, Po, Laa-Laa and Dipsy during the 90-minute Teletubbyland experience
The event is inspired by the British children’s TV series from the 1990s. It will have you sipping cocktails and mocktails at a Teletubbies-themed cocktail bar, playing plenty of games and listening to the best 90s music throwbacks from a live DJ.
With family-friendly sessions for all ages and options for over 18s, organisers say this limited-time event will have you nostalgic and reminiscing on your childhood as you sip on Tubby Custard cocktails and nibble on some tasty Tubby Toast.

Tickets start from $10 and will include a cocktail on arrival as you enter the decorated Teletubbie Home Dome, the opportunity to play plenty of games and participate in various activities and witness a few surprises along the way.
This event will be sure to have you unleashing your inner child.
Rumour has it you may even spot one of your favourite childhood icons in purple, lime green, yellow or red!
