East Traders Hall is a new foodie precinct opening in April at Anzac Park East, Campbell. The first traders have been announced, and it’s a lineup of Canberra hospitality royalty!

Capital Brewing Co, Sliceria, Lava Coffee and a new restaurant from the Chairman Group called World are the opening acts for East Traders Hall, with more venues to be announced soon.

Amalgamated Property Group is behind the new hospitality precinct, which covers 800 sqm and is designed around a network of laneways, indoor and outdoor zones, and high ceilings.

“East Traders was conceived as a long-term investment in the precinct, as a community centre for Anzac Park East. We wanted to deliver a venue that would revitalise Canberra’s lifestyle scene with a space that is dynamic and interesting,” Amalgamated general manager Daniel Potts told Region.

“East Traders is an all-day dining destination that can be enjoyed by the whole Canberra community, whether it be for morning coffee rituals, midday cravings or late-night dinner dates. We are excited to see the fresh energy and elevated food offerings that it will bring to the neighbourhood.”

Capital Brewing Co’s Lager House is one of the much-anticipated traders in the precinct. They announced they would open Lager House in late 2025, prompting much speculation about the location.

Capital Brewing Co founder Laurence Kain told Region that the new venue is a shift back to his hospitality roots.

“I find the most fulfilment and purpose in creating environments where people can come together, get out of the house and have a really enjoyable experience,” he said.

“[Amalgamated] were quite deliberate in how they were curating the space, the design and the feel of it. And the location is such a beautiful area.”

World is a new venue from the Chairman Group – the company behind Lanterne Rooms, Chairman and Yip, Mu & Cicada Bar and more – described as “a new creative restaurant concept … created specifically for East Traders”.

Chairman Group is promising World will offer an all-day menu of globally inspired comfort food with influences ranging from Vietnamese-style rolls and French crêpes to ramen, dumplings and classic pasta dishes.

The precinct will be open for early-morning coffees from the local brand Lava Coffee, which was established in 2009 in Weston Creek by Lincoln Fairleigh. The East Traders Hall location will be his fourth, and the first on the north side of the lake.

Chef Hem’s cult-favourite New York-style pizza joint Sliceria will have its second location at the precinct.

There are still more venues to be announced, and plans for a series of small retail spaces to accompany the hospitality venues. Florists, pop-ups, specialty retailers and spaces for local artists have been floated as potential traders. The idea is that the precinct will continue to evolve, creating new experiences for locals and visitors.
