Wondering what to do this weekend? How about a delicious family dinner followed by high-energy fun?

Introducing the new Arcadia room at Hellenic Club Woden, a state-of-the-art entertainment zone that hosts more than 25 exciting attractions.

Set across 260 square metres below the club bistro, Arcadia is a whole new world of neon lights and endless possibilities. The space is a little fancier than the classic arcades many parents grew up with – expect interactive adventures, simulators, VR and more. It’s bound to drum up some serious fanfare.

Kids of all ages are invited to pop down with a guardian after their meal and burn off all that energy.

Arcadia is staffed in the evenings and on weekends, so if mum or dad wants to sip on a coffee upstairs while the kids play, that’s fine too.

Game hubs like this one are a long-time passion for Nick Vasiliou from Happydays Amusements. After more than three decades in the industry, he says a successful arcade is as much about atmosphere as the games themselves.

“I expect parents will feel pretty nostalgic coming in here,” Nick says.

“We have basketball machines, driving simulators, VR, pinball, claw machines, air hockey tables … there’s a great mix of entertainment to suit a huge range of ages and interests.

“Obviously, kids come for the games, but they stick around for the experience. It’s all about colour, light, sound, movement and laughing with friends and family.”

Arcadia is completely cashless, with games accessed through an intercard system. Parents and guardians simply purchase a prepaid card from the teller, which kids can then use to play whatever games they like.

A few well-known titles to expect include Mario Kart and Jurassic Park, alongside fresh finds and skill testers.

“We also included ticket redemption, where you are awarded points for playing and trade them for prizes,” Nick says.

“They range from keyrings and accessories to novelty toys and LEGO. There’s even a drone up for grabs.”

Age is just a number; parents are more than welcome to get involved and jump on some games themselves while supervising.

“Arcadia is a dynamic space where children can immerse themselves in play and create fun, memorable moments. It’s designed to bring families together, with parents encouraged to join in and share the experience,” Hellenic Club COO Mick Douros says.

“We have a space for the littlest Arcadians with some free games for relaxed play. For parents who want to step away briefly, our food outlets are conveniently located nearby.

“A dedicated party room has also been developed, with catered birthday packages for Arcadians coming soon.”

To celebrate the opening, all Hellenic Club restaurants are offering complimentary game cards with the purchase of kids’ meals, each loaded with three free plays on the games.
