Lucky’s is a sophisticated cocktail bar with a speakeasy style, located on the ground floor of QT Canberra. Classic cocktails and fedora hat wearing staff create a real prohibition era feel here, as does the ‘hidden’ entrance–you have to enter through the barbershop if coming from the hotel lobby. A private hideaway for those wanting to take the edge off a long day in the trenches, with a fully stocked bar and a loaded bar snack menu, this grownup bar offers a modern twist on classic cocktails, and is the perfect setting to get sauced in secret. The cocktail list is sophisticated and well thought out, and some of the finest whiskeys, rums, gins and vodkas make up the serious range of spirits from around the globe. On certain nights, burlesque dancers navigate the room, in an intermission from the carefully curated DJ sets. Bar snacks are seriously good and available until well after midnight on many nights. Sliders come with a number of fillings, a ‘Hot Diggidy Dog’ has New Orleans sausage, pickles and fried onions, and arancini balls may be meat filled or vegetarian. A short but well thought out wine list will impress and includes a selection of special champagnes for those who are celebrating.
