On 4th of July, Smoque will remind us America is already great.

Smoque. Fourth of July. This is Canberra

There are two reasons we should look forward to this Fourth of July. The first is that the marathon election campaign our dear leaders have subjected us to will be done and dusted. The second is that American barbecue restaurant Smoque will be celebrating America’s birthday in massive smoky style.

Of course, the Yanks still have their election to run, and if a certain nominee makes it all the way to the White House and makes ‘Murica great again or – perish the thought – actually gets his tiny-hand-fingers on the button, there may not be too much to celebrate next time around.

In which case I suggest that all those who love the good things about America head down to Smoque and celebrate while they still can with Smoque’s special Fourth of July menu. The regular menu – including the very popular fifty cent wings on Mondays – will be suspended for the day, but in its place is a hearty two or three course banquet that is sure to excite Americophile foodies, and perhaps even bring a patriotic tear to an expat’s eye.

As well as all of the amazing food on the special menu, there will also be a huge selection of American beers and Bourbons and a special rate for the kids; oh, and word has it, Elvis may be in the building.
